Here we have included information on various types of dental prosthesis made in our clinics. We have also tried to provide basic patient friendly information on different types of materials and techniques used in the fabrication of such appliances as part of our efforts to increase patient awareness and empowerment and combat quackery. Lastly, a note on our prosthetic treatment costs for such appliances is also included.
Advanced Prosthesis made in our clinics
Valplast Flexible Partial Dentures We also offer the option of flexible valplast dentures to our patients. Since these are flexible, they offer greater patient compliance and are more comfortable than regular partial dentures. These are also more esthetic as the unesthetically visible metal clasps are no longer needed. Please click here to read more about valplast flexible partials. Complete Dentures Tissue Relines We also offer tissue relines on existing dentures. Different types of reline materials are available.
Recommended Impression Technique for Crown/Bridge, Veneers, Inlay & Onlay We recommend the use of either addition silicone (Vinyl Polysiloxane) or polyether rubber base impression materials in light, medium or putty consistency for advanced prosthetic work such as crowns & briges, veneers, inlays or onlays. We recommend gingival retraction be carried out before impressions are made by means of a retraction cord or other methods, including electrosurgery. We also recommend that the dental lab use die pins and ditching on the models and ensure that the same is carried out to perfection by our labs - local or outstation. All of the above can be quite confusing. Therefore, please click here for our 'easy to understand' brochure with details on 'addition silicone rubber base impression technique with gingival retraction' followed in our clinics. We DO NOT recommend the use of condensation silicone rubber base material or alginates for such work. Click here for 'easy to understand' details on the alginate technique which we DO NOT RECOMMEND for crown &bridge, veneer, inlay or onlay work. This technique is acceptable only for a partial denture work.
